Prediction: Hertha Berlin vs Augsburg

Bookmaker:

Hertha are set to play host to Augsburg at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Saturday afternoon, in a game that will be a part of the 29th round of the 2019/20 season in the Bundesliga. It will be a contest between two teams which should both be highly motivated, given the way the table is set at the moment.

Hertha Berlin

It hasn t been a bad campaign for the team from the German capital as it is, but if they manage to fight their way to play in Europe next term, it will be considered a great success. They are currently in 10th place with 35 points from the previous 28 rounds, seven less than Wolfsburg in sixth. It s beginning to look like a rather tall order, but nothing can be ruled out at this point. They would also have to overtake…

Brazil 3-1 Portugal: Neymar stars as Scolari’s men triumph

Neymar was in inspired form as Brazil showed their strength of character to come from behind to defeat Portugal 3-1 at the Gillette Arena.
The former Santos man scored once and provided an assist, while also having a hand in Brazil s third goal, as the upcoming World Cup hosts recovered from a shock early concession.
Raul Meireles, who had hit the woodwork six minutes earlier with a header, put Portugal in front in the 18th minute at Gillette Stadium, after making the most of a defensive howler from Maicon.
The Roma right back was attempting to send the ball back to his goalkeeper Julio Cesar via his head, but Fenerbahce midfielder Meireles was quick to realise the opportunity with the former Chelsea man intercepting with a touch, before tucking away the opener past the helpless Br…

Bafana Bafana build upon Brazil in cold Germany

Hosts South Africa have spent the last two days adjusting to the cold weather in Germany and building upon their Brazil training camp in preparations for the 2010 World Cup.

After training for nearly a month in summer temperatures in South America, Bafana Bafana on Thursday completed their second day of training camp in rainy and chilly Germany.

We cannot complain much. You have to understand that when the World Cup starts, it will be winter as well. So we can get used to it this way as well, said South Africa midfielder Teko Moside following Thursday s morning training session in Herzogenaurach.

Coach Carlos Albert Parreira has so far concentrated here on building up his African team s fitness after their camp in Brazil.

After 39,681 Serie A minutes, Buffon smashes yet another Juventus record

Gianluigi Buffon has played more Serie A minutes for Juventus than any player in the club s history after featuring in the 1-0 win over Sampdoria.

The 39-year-old was largely untroubled at Stadio Luigi Ferraris as he surpassed Giampiero Boniperti s record of 39,680 competitive league minutes in a Juventus shirt, and the Bianconeri remain on course to help Buffon claim his eighth Scudetto.

Buffon joined Juve from Parma in 2001, replacing outgoing goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and becoming the most expensive shot-stopper in history.

He has proven to be a relative bargain, breaking the record for the longest streak without conceding a goal in Serie A when he went unbeaten for 974 consecutive minutes during the 2015-16 season.

NOBODY has played more Serie A m…

Neymar uncomfortable with Messi and Ronaldo comparisons

Neymar said he does not feel comfortable being mentioned in the same breath as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as he prepares to captain Brazil.

Barcelona star Messi and Real Madrid s Ronaldo have dominated football, winning the Ballon d Or the past nine times between them but Neymar is closing the gap.

Neymar, who finished third for the top gong in 2015, has been tipped to win the next Ballon d Or as some of his peers see him surpassing the iconic duo but the 25-year-old is just focused on bettering himself.

This is one thing that I don t feel comfortable to talking about. I really don t like it, said Neymar, who will captain Brazil against Paraguay in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying on Tuesday with the South American giants seven points clear atop the standin…

Arteta: Don´t call Lampard and me ´the next Klopp and Guardiola´

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has dismissed the notion he and Frank Lampard could be considered the next Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

Arteta and Lampard go head to head at Wembley on Saturday in the FA Cup final, hoping to win the first trophies of their coaching careers.

Arsenal managed only to finish eighth in the Premier League this season but have won praise for positive signs of progress in their play, most notably in the FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City.

Lampard, who took charge of Chelsea last year, steered the Blues to a top-four finish despite the restrictions of a one-window transfer ban and is now looking to lift a trophy he won four times for the London club in his playing days.

Arteta is full of admiration for Lampard but is not yet …

20:00 Inter Milan vs Getafe

While Inter Milan might have just missed out on lifting the Serie A title by a single point this summer, Antonio Conte s men did enjoy an eye-catching end to this year s campaign. Keeping the morale in their camp at a real high with what was a glittering 2-0 win away at a high-flying Atalanta last week, the former Chelsea boss finds his side in the midst of a three-match winning run, a run that also saw them land another 2-0 victory against Napoli last month. Now in the midst of an eight-match unbeaten run and securing a Champions League return with time to spare, the Italian giants have also really impressed with their recent displays at the back. Shocking many and leaving Atalanta unscathed on their season finale last week, Inter have now recorded f…
